Ella Rose

NOTE: Ella Rose is located in Duluth, MN.

This is Ella Rose. We were told she is half Border Collie and half Blue Heeler. She is 1 1/2 years old. She's had a tough start to her life. She was tied up to a dog house since last February with very little to eat or drink. For two solid weeks she was not given any food or water and then when she barked she was beaten.

She has been in foster care through an independant rescuer now for 3 weeks and is doing well. She is being treated for lymes right now and is doing great. She shows no symptoms of lymes disease at all. She is updated on vaccinations and is waiting for the go ahead from the vet before she can get spayed. She needed to put on some weight first. She's full of life and craves attention.

Ella has to go to a home with NO cats as she is very prey driven. She would be a great agility dog after some basic obedience training. She has some issues with food aggression around other dogs but has been fine with people around her food.

Please email her foster mom Julie at dabanks@cpinternet.com if you have any questions or interest about adopting Ella. She's truly a wonderful dog who needs an experienced herding breed owner.

Angel

Angel is a 7 year old FS, white Border Collie with black face markings. She is heartworm negative. She needs training with handling. She gets nervous and will snap if you want to clip her, take blood, touch paws, back ends etc, but after just a few days of work has made progress in overcoming this. She ignores other dogs (but will warn them if they come too close) and is good with kids. She will be staying in foster care for another 1-2 months.

Angel is very obese right now and has a hard time getting up. She should weigh in at the 18-20kg range but instead weighs 34kg. She is currently on a 0 calorie diet and has already lost 1kg!

There is no adoption fee, but hopes for a donation. Applicants will be screened.

If you are interested in Angel, call Birte at 482-5720 or email her at dr.klug@selkirkvetservice.ca.

Hannah, Billy & Megan

Hannah is approx. 3 months old female Border Collie X. Adoption fee of $225.00 which includes deworming, all set of vaccinations including rabies, spay, tattoo, and microchip. Hannah has a curly coat. She came into rescue with her 2 litter mates Billy and Megan from very poor living conditions and all 3 of them were heavily infested with worms, mites, and underweight. She's such a cute girl and a sweetheart!

Billy is approx 3 months old male Border Collie X. Adoption fee of $225.00 which includes deworming, all set of vaccinations including rabies, spay, tattoo, and microchip. Billy's coat was in very poor condition but it is improving with high quality food and vet care. So don't let that coat fool you...he's turning into a very handsome boy!

Cajun

Cajun is a 4 year old Black Mouth Cur that couldn't be rehomed for a long time due to certain temperament issues. He has made it through all the main issues now but will still need a knowledgeable owner. He needs a warm place to live. He is too cold here and spends most of his time on a heat register. If he does stay in Winterpeg, a person with an extra warm house would be preferred.

Cajun is a dog that would excel in sports of any kind. He loves to jump, run and has a solid retrieve. He would be good at schutzhund, agility, flyball, scent hurdle, search and rescue work... and much more. The IAMS Superdogs would be a possibility with this dog and has been taught barrel racing with a twist.

Cajun gets along with other dogs and cats but you do have to watch play time so that he doesn't get too bossy. He needs someone that will do a lot of activities with him but he does settle nicely as well. The most important to me is that he goes to a home that will give him lots of one on one time as he deserves this. However, not a home that will baby him too much or some of his issues may resurface. Preferably a home with knowledge of operant conditioning, clicker savvy but knows when to be firm.
