No, she isn't a Border Collie. In fact, Roo is a "Dwarf Pit". Roo was on death row in Minneapolis. Our puppy mill transport had fallen through, so we only had one Border Collie coming up. I told my good friend Lisa that we must help another dog. Lisa found Roo. Roo was due to die on Friday, along with 7 other Pits. Why? Because the pound was full. Lisa called me and said that this lovely little girl was not even 14" high, and so sweet and gentle. She broke Lisa's heart. Look at that face...you can see why. Lisa named her "Sweetie".

When she told me about the dog, I was very worried. You see, here in Winnipeg, we have an assinine law called "Breed Specific Legislation". Rather than making laws that stop idiots from owning this breed, our not-so-bright politicians chose to ban the breed. Without going into any of the details, Roo's life was saved, and she is now living with a wonderful family in Regina, where they don't have BSL.

Roo (so named because she bounces like a kangaroo!) now lives with a nice family and their other mini-pit! Roo now has a whole new life ahead of her, rather than being killed just because she exists.
