Scrappy's tale is a fun one. As you can see, Scrappy is NOT a Border Collie! We had a transport of Borders coming up from kill shelters in the USA, and I wanted to find a nice dog at the same time for my good friend Tracy. You see, Tracy LOVES dogs, but she is highly allergic. Tracy helped us out with fund raising for Shahna's Shelter, and still does by keeping a donation tin at the front counter at Harvest Bakery on St. Anne's Rd. I wanted to do something special for her.

So I called on my good friend Lisa in Minneapolis. She and I scoured the internet for hypo-allergenic dogs who needed to be rescued. Neither of us could believe how difficult it was. Well, it turns out Lisa went down to a local police shelter that doesn't advertise their dogs, and lo and behold, she found little Scrappy.

Scrappy's family refused to pay her fines, so they released her into the custody of our rescue, and into Lisa's arms. In the meantime, all I told Tracy was that we had a little girl dog for her, and nothing more. She was very surprised when she saw her new family member, Scrappy! :)

Special thanks to Lisa and hubby Mike, and all those who helped with the transport of Scrappy, Ami, and Abby. Even Tracy's Dad was caught loving on Scrappy!
