Training * house trained/kennel-crate Energy Level * high, medium, low More about me... Hazel! My name is Hazel and I am an approx. 8 month old Mastiff Shepherd mix. I came into the rescue scared with a lot of bite marks from other dogs. I was always scared I would get hurt by humans or other dogs. It took me a while to get use to living in a home and I love it!!! I worked very hard with my foster mom to overcome the fear of other dogs. I currently live with a foster sister Izzy (chihuahua) and brother Meshoo (griffin) and a cat Leelah which I love!! The smaller the dog the more comfortable I am around them. My mom tells me I play very well with my little sister but sometimes I need a reminder to be gentle. I do like to ruff it up with my brother but he doesn’t seem to mind it. When I first meet bigger dogs my mom puts this thing on my face (muzzle) and don’t like it at all but I feel safe wearing it and I am calm around them. Few visits later when all of us become friends I no longer have to wear it and I love to play and be chased. I eat a few feet away from my siblings and when we are all done we like to clean each others bowls. My mom takes me for walks around the neighbourhood and sometimes I still get a bit overwhelmed when I see other dogs but I am working hard to stay calm as I know I won’t get hurt. Sometimes for my own protection I do wear this muzzle thing and I feel more relaxed on the walks. I also don’t pull much when I am on the leash. I am told I am a good girl a lot. I sleep all night on my doggie bed in my moms room and have no accidents in the house. I sometimes I think I’m a small dog and love to cuddle up not paying much attention to my size. I am full of energy and love to play. I am very gentle and I love my humans! I can sit and stay and my mom tells me I am getting a lot better with recall ( treats help a lot with that). I would love to find a forever home with an active family or a smaller furry friend to play and run with. If you feel Hazel could be a great match for you, please complete an adoption application.
