Training * house trained/kennel-crate More about me... Moses is a spunky 2-year-old Border Collie/Husky/Teddy Bear mix. He is a dog full of character. He loves being petted and is not bothered by touch. He enjoys going on walks but still needs help learning leash manners and how to stop pulling. He is very eager to learn and please. He is a pro at sitting and shaking a paw. Moses arrived quite emaciated and used to be very enthusiastic at mealtime, but he has since learned to wait for his bowl. Such a good boy! Moses loves toys and stuffies and always has to sleep with them. Moses is not a nervous barker and very rarely makes noise. He is house-trained. He does have some separation anxiety. Before his rescue, Moses spent his life as an outside chained dog. While he loves to visit and sleep in the house at night with his humans, he much prefers to be outside when no one is home. We realize this is very rare for our rescue, we do not typically adopt outside dogs, but Moses is special. He requires a securely fenced yard. If his family is away, he would be happy to rest outside but he must be cared for and not kept exclusively as an outside dog. He needs proper shelter and water for the days he is outside. He is unhappy in a crate when left alone, and has shredded fabric when not crated. He would love someone who is around often, will take him for walks, play with him and of course, enjoy nature. Moses travels well, loves car rides and settles in his crate in the car. He has a strong prey drive so a home with no cats or small dogs or other animals is recommended. His recall leaves much to be desired, that is a work in progress. He will be a great furry companion and just needs a little more training. He has an incredible loving character. He is reasonably well socialized with other dogs, but we are unsure how he would do sharing a household with other dogs. It would depend on the dog. He is a very strong dog for his size and would likely love to pull you while ski-joring or pulling a small sleigh in the winter. While he is a furry critter…he does not seem to shed as much as other Collie/Husky mixes. Bottom line, whoever ends up adopting Moses will get a great, loving, and loyal companion.
